The standard is being forwarded for first public review and for further processing. At the T11 plenary in Providence, RI on October 9, 2008, Bill Martin (Emulex) on behalf of the 11.3 chair requested the T11 Chair to perform a Letter Ballot for approval of forwarding Revision 1.03 of FC-BB-5, Project 1871-D, to INCITS for first public review when the document is available. The T11 Chair accepted. The letter ballot was subsequently performed and completed. The letter ballot document, T11/08-641v0, is enclosed for reference. The letter ballot was completed on November 14, 2008. The vote carried with 29 in favor, 4 opposed, 10 abstaining, and 3 not voting. Eight affirmative ballots carried comments. This vote met the two-thirds rule. The result of this ballot is available online from http://www.t11.org by following "Ballots" and "Closed Ballots" links and is also attached below for your convenience. After resolving all the comments presented in response to the letter ballot, the 4 members previously opposed, Brocade, EMC, Emulex,and NetApp were contacted by telephone, e-mail, or in person. All 4 of these members, indicated that they were satisfied with the comment resolution and would change their votes from opposed to in favor, as documented in the minutes of the T11 plenary meeting in Coeur d’Alene, ID, on June 4, 2009. At the T11 plenary meeting in Coeur d’Alene, ID, on June 4, 2009, Craig Carlson (Qlogic) moved and Landon Noll (Cisco) seconded to accept T11/09-010vA as the resolution of the letter ballot comments on FC-BB-5 and forward Revision 2.00 of FC-BB-5 (T11/09-056v5), Project 1871-D, to INCITS for further processing including public review. INCITS RD-2 requires approval of this question in accord with the 2/3 rule, as determined by roll call. The motion met the 2/3 rule, with 28 Favoring, 0 Opposing, 1 Abstaining, 6 Not Voting. These actions are documented in the minutes of the June 2009 T11 plenary meeting, T11/09-322v0, subclause 11.2.1. This item was posted on the agenda for the June 2009 meeting, T11/09-253v1, published more than two weeks in advance. Lists of the members of T11 and T11.3 who approved this standard are enclosed for your reference. The source files for this document are enclosed in a separate e-mail.
