Dear Ms. Bennett:
 
The T11 committee has prepared a project proposal for an
INCITS standard entitled "Fibre Channel – Backbone - 6
(FC-BB-6)".
 
The project is intended to develop an INCITS standard that 
extends and clarifies INCITS project 1871-D "Fibre Channel - 
Backbone - 5", including VN_Port to VN_Port virtual links.
 
The project proposal was noted for consideration on the
meeting's agenda, document T11/09-253v1.
  
The project proposal is contained in document T11/09-272v1.
At the June 4, 2009 meeting of T11, held in Coeur d’Alene, ID,
Craig Carlson (QLogic) moved and Landon Noll (Cisco) 
seconded to approve the project proposal for FC-BB-6
(T11/09-272v1) and to forward the project proposal for 
FC-BB-6 (T11/09-272v1) to INCITS for further processing.
This requires a 2/3 meeting vote. The motion passed with 29 
in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstaining, and 6 Not Voting.
 
The vote is recorded in clause 11.2.3 of the June
2009 T11 plenary minutes, T11/09-322v0.
 
Could you please take the appropriate steps to carry forward
the recommendation of T11 and accept the project as a 
standard to be developed within T11.
